So with the housewarming party only a few weeks away, Kirk and I decided it's time to get serious about getting the house ready. We started tearing all the hideous wallpaper down in the kitchen about a month ago and hadn't done anything more since. This weekend we accomplished A TON; thanks to the help of both families! The Mickey Mouse room is now painted with just the trim left to finish and the floral upstairs bathroom is now a nice woodsie brown also with trim left to be done. Of course the kitchen, the one room we really need to finish because we are gaining weight from all the take out dinners, is still not done, we are hoping after another long weekend of work it will be; it kind of has to be given the party is next weekend! I forgot to take before pictures of the office and bathroom but here are some before pictures of the kitchen and I'll be posting all the after pictures Monday!.jpg)

Wish I was there! Bobby thinks I'm crazy, but I LOVE painting and house projects. I look forward to the after pictures. It'll be like watching HGTV.
Yes, Rachelle is crazy. Who likes to paint, or for that matter do any kind of chores, honestly. It's like that scene in "The Break-Up" where Vince Vaughn is all "Why would I want to do dishes?", that is an argument that has been had more than a few times in our house. By the way, saying that you painted your bathroom "woodsy" brown sounds suspiciously like "poop" brown to me. Just throwing that out there.
Rachelle, I love HGTV too! As much as I was freaking out about getting this all done in time I do actually really like it too. Bobby, the brown that I chose is very earthy, and does NOT look like poop it looks like forest! However there was a chocolate brown that looked totally like poop that Kirk though might look good, and he was all embarrassed to be with me when I said it looked like poop in front of the paint lady at Home Depot!
